The National Environment Agency (NEA) has introduced various initiatives to raise awareness on the importance of energy conservation and promote the use of energy efficient products.

In January 2008, NEA implemented the Mandatory Energy Labeling Scheme (MELS) for household air- conditioners and refrigerators. Under MELS, energy labels are affixed to air-conditioners and refrigerators at point-of-sales. The more energy efficient an appliance is, the more ticks on its label.

Energy efficient products consume less electricity and can help you lower your electricity bills. These products also cut down on carbon dioxide emissions that cause climate change.

Being one of the market leaders in the air conditioning business, Fujitsu has raised the bar on the quality of inverter air conditioners.

Cost Saving Technology from Fujitsu helps consumers save more by using V Pam that enables Fujitsu compressors to react more rapidly to changes in room temperature than conventional inverter air conditioners.

With a fabulous product and cool features, Fujitsu inverter air conditioners are your intelligent choice to comfort.

  1. The lower the temperature setting, the more energy used by your air conditioner. If you use an air conditioner, set the temperature at 25ÂșC or higher.

  2. Choose an energy efficient appliance by checking the energy labels.

  3. Ensure windows and doors are all closed.

  4. Use awnings, blinds and solar reflecting film on windows to reduce the heat transmitted by sun rays.

  5. Ensure the inlets and outlets of the indoor and outdoor units are not obstructed.

  6. Like automotive, it is necessary to service the air- conditioners regularly to ensure proper functioning.

  7. To ensure energy efficiency, use a properly sized air- conditioning unit. Energy efficiency can be optimized by using split units if you are cooling more than one room.

  8. Ensure a credible installer is chosen to install your air-conditioners. Appropriate tools, equipment and materials must be used to ensure the optimum performance of your air-conditioners.

  1. If you operate your air conditioner(s) everyday, you should wash your air filter once every two weeks.

  2. If your air conditioner(s) is/are complete with an air-purifying option, the purifying filters should be replaced every 3 months. Poorly maintained air-conditioners could waste tremendous amount of energy and hence less cost efficient. Purifying filter can be purchased at our service centre.

  3. Please ensure that there is adequate ventilation at the outdoor unit. Do not place any objects that may block the ventilation. Otherwise, it may cause higher electrical consumption, reduction in cooling capacity or failure of compressor.

  4. If your air conditioner(s) is/are operating everyday, it is recommended that you engage a qualified serviceman to service your air- conditioner(s) at least once every 3 months.
